This is how I wipe my device. Make sure you have backup all of your data and 3rd party apps before doing any wiping.
Step 1:
Security wipe is done by using your BB. Go to options, security options, security wipe, and check the first 2 options but the media card (unless you want it to) and type "blackberry" and click wipe.
Step 2:
After you have wiped your device, plug your device to your PC and use BBSAK to wipe it again.
Once you see the error message on your device, you can now load the new OS as you normally do.
